Grant & Partnership Information
Alonzo Community Service Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) established in 2025. We provide free tax preparation through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, serving Hidalgo County with a primary service area in McAllen, Texas. We plan to apply for the IRS VITA/TCE Grant (Publication 6086) when the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) opens for the current year.

Who is eligible for free VITA tax preparation?
Eligibility is based on IRS VITA guidelines and your tax situation. If you’re not sure, contact us and we’ll help you confirm.
What should I bring to my appointment?
A photo ID, Social Security cards/ITIN letters for everyone on the return, income documents (W-2/1099), and any tax letters you received.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We’re by appointment only to protect your privacy and reduce wait times.
